Workland presents an amazing career opportunity for its client One Silicon Chip Photonics (OSCP) currently seeking an IMU/System Integration Engineer, with a passion for finding cost-effective solutions, digital signal processing, and FPGA programming. OSCP is a fast-growing Canadian company based out of beautiful Montreal, whose technology portfolio focuses on photonic integrated sensors. The technology involves developing simple, compact, low-cost, low-power consuming, and high-performance sensors for applications in navigation systems such as Inertial Measurement Units (gyroscopes and accelerometers).

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the IMU/System Integration Engineer will lead the development and integration of OSCP's advanced inertial measurement unit (IMU), requiring expertise in IMU functionality performance measurements and navigation functions. The IMU/System Integration Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to meet high-precision IMU specifications.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:

  • Lead system-level integration of OSCP IMUs from concept to prototype to commercial product.
  • Work with all stakeholders to produce functional IMUs that meet OSCP and customer specifications.
  • Develop IMUs that meet OSCP's technology roadmap in terms of performance, energy consumption, and size.
  • Provide feedback to photonics, hardware, and software engineers on IMU performance, and implement corrective component design where necessary to achieve IMU specifications.
  • Work with customers on user interfaces and evaluation kits.
  • Document all aspects of IMU manufacturing, testing, and characterization and develop procedures for building commercial IMUs.
  • Contribute to the constant increase in value of OSCP products by striving to improve product performance while reducing costs.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POSITION ARE:

  • Minimum B.Sc. in electrical engineering or equivalent and at least three years of relevant industrial experience in developing and characterizing inertial measurement units.
  • Experience in navigation, localization, and positioning systems, including Kalman filters, AHRS, RTK and INS.
  • Experience in optoelectronics, hardware, packaging, and thermal management
  • Dynamic project management skills, adaptability to a fast-paced work environment, and team spirit.
  • Excellent Internet and print research skills; ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; thorough understanding of electrical codes and safety approval processes.
  • Experience in automotive or aerospace certification would be an asset.
  • Bilingualism in French and English is an asset.
